Mountain Daddies Bed & Breakfast

Boutique Bed & Breakfast in Oakhurst, CA

The Mountain Daddies Experience

Stay a While.

The Sierra Nevada was never meant to be rushed. Give yourself a few extra days, slower mornings and enough time to discover why people fall in love with these mountains.

More than a place to sleep

Make Room for the Good Parts

At Mountain Daddies Bed & Breakfast, we encourage you to linger over breakfast, watch one more sunset, explore one more hidden gem and leave with memories that extend far beyond Yosemite Valley.

Here is what an unhurried Mountain Daddies getaway might look like.

A Getaway With Breathing Room

Use this as inspiration, not a checklist. The best mountain days leave space to wander, linger and change your mind.

0Arrival day

Welcome to the Mountains

Check into your room, unpack and take a deep breath of fresh mountain air. Wander onto the deck, soak in the foothill views and let vacation begin before you have “done” anything at all.

Head into Oakhurst for dinner or settle in after your travels. Depending on the evening and what is happening around the house, you may find yourself joining us on the deck for a thoughtfully prepared cocktail or glass of wine as the sun goes down.

The goal: begin slowing down the moment you arrive.

1Yosemite icons

Yosemite’s Greatest Hits

Wake up to freshly brewed coffee and homemade breakfast, then head toward the park’s most celebrated scenery.

  • Yosemite Valley
  • Tunnel View
  • Glacier Point
  • Yosemite Falls
  • El Capitan
  • Bridalveil Fall
  • Mariposa Grove

Take your time. Sit beside the Merced River. Pack a picnic and stay with the view. Yosemite is not a race—and Mountain Daddies will be waiting when you return to relax, recharge and share the day’s stories.

2Beyond the icons

Yosemite’s Hidden Gems

After another leisurely breakfast, venture beyond the park’s most famous viewpoints and discover quieter corners with breathtaking scenery.

  • Tuolumne Meadows
  • Hetch Hetchy Reservoir
  • Tenaya Lake
  • Olmsted Point
  • Sentinel Dome
  • Chilnualna Falls
  • Merced Grove

Many of our favorite Yosemite memories have come from slowing down and exploring the less obvious places. By now, it becomes clear why the park deserves more than one day.

3Lake time

Bass Lake, Unhurried

Today’s adventure is about relaxation. After breakfast, make the short trip to one of our favorite places in the Sierra Nevada.

  • Paddleboarding
  • Kayaking
  • Boating
  • Swimming
  • Lakeside dining
  • Sunset over the water

Bass Lake is the perfect contrast to Yosemite’s grandeur: peaceful, nostalgic and wonderfully unhurried. Sometimes the best vacation memories are the ones where you simply enjoy where you are.

One more day?

Extend Your Stay

There is always more of the Sierra Nevada to uncover—or a perfectly good reason to stay right where you are.

  • Local wineries and tasting rooms
  • Scenic foothill drives
  • Historic mountain communities
  • Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad
  • Hidden trails and swimming holes
  • Oakhurst shops and restaurants
  • Seasonal events and festivals

And if the ideal afternoon is a book, a comfortable deck chair and another cup of coffee while hummingbirds dance through the trees? We are perfectly happy with that too.

Hospitality at a slower pace

The Mountain Daddies Difference

Mountain Daddies is not simply a place to stay while visiting Yosemite. It is an invitation to relax, reconnect and experience these mountains with people who genuinely love sharing them.

Homemade breakfasts and meaningful conversations
Sunsets shared over cocktails and mountain views
Hidden gems discovered along the way
Time to relax, reconnect and celebrate
Genuine hospitality that feels like coming home
A Sierra Nevada stay worth remembering
Our favorite itinerary advice
Stay a little longer. Sleep a little later. Order one more mimosa at breakfast. Explore one more trail. Watch one more sunset.

These mountains are not going anywhere—and neither should you.

Come as guests. Leave as friends.

The Best Vacations Are the Ones You Never Wanted to End

Some guests arrive planning a Yosemite vacation and leave having fallen in love with the Sierra Nevada. Others arrive as strangers and leave having made friends around the breakfast table.

Mountain Daddies is our home, our dream and our way of sharing the mountains we love. We hope you will stay a while.
