Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to choose your room, understand the stay and arrive feeling right at home.
Booking, Breakfast & the Basics
What is included with my stay?
Every nightly room rate includes a homemade hot breakfast for two guests, complimentary Wi-Fi, on-site parking, and access to welcoming shared guest spaces and outdoor areas. Grant can accommodate up to four guests; guests beyond the two included in the standard rate are subject to an additional-guest charge.
When is breakfast, and can you accommodate dietary needs?
Breakfast is normally served from 8:00–10:00 AM. Tell us about dietary needs or food allergies before arrival and we will do our best to accommodate them. Because food is prepared in a shared working kitchen, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free kitchen or environment.
What time are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00–8:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If your travel plans require a different arrival time, contact us in advance and we will do our best to help.
How do direct-booking payments and cancellations work?
For direct reservations, 50% is due at booking and the remaining balance is due seven days before arrival. Paid prepayments are fully refundable when canceled at least 10 days before arrival; cancellations after that point are nonrefundable. A $450 preauthorization is placed one day before arrival and is normally voided two days after departure.
Do you offer self check-in?
No. Mountain Daddies is an owner-hosted bed and breakfast, and we look forward to welcoming guests and helping them settle in whenever possible.
Rooms, Bathrooms & Whole-House Stays
Which room is right for me?
Grant is a first-floor king suite with a maximum occupancy of four and two private bathrooms: one full bathroom and one 3/4 ensuite with a walk-in shower. Brando is a larger upstairs king room, and Hudson is a cozy upstairs queen room. Brando and Hudson share one full bathroom plus an additional half bathroom.
How does the Brando and Hudson shared bathroom work?
Brando and Hudson share one full bathroom and an additional half bathroom, which is available to both rooms 24 hours a day. Inside the shared full bathroom, each room has its own dedicated sink and vanity, and towels are color-coded by room.
Brando and Hudson also each have a separate getting-ready vanity inside the guest room with a makeup mirror, makeup lighting and a hair dryer. This in-room setup lets guests handle much of their hair, makeup and getting-ready routine privately, reducing the time they need to occupy the shared bathroom.
A whiteboard is available if guests wish to reserve the shared full bathroom or shower in 15-minute increments. Most guests never find it necessary to reserve a bathroom time.
Is a refrigerator or kitchen available?
The working kitchen and stove are reserved for the hosts and are not available for guest use. Grant guests may request limited refrigerator space for small personal items; that refrigerator is also shared with Mountain Daddies' food stock. Ask us if you need help storing medication or a small amount of unopened food.
Can I request the whole house?
Yes. Whole-house stays are request-based and individually reviewed rather than automatically bookable. Send us your preferred dates, group details and occasion; if the house is available, we will follow up with a personalized quote.
More Than Breakfast
Are food and drinks available beyond breakfast?
Cocktails, beer, wine, snacks and desserts are available for purchase to overnight guests. Small meals are typically available on weekends for an additional charge. Mountain Daddies is not a full-service restaurant, and evening meals are not guaranteed every night.
Are restaurants and groceries nearby?
Yes. Downtown Oakhurst is approximately 10–12 minutes away, with restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, pharmacies and other conveniences. Our Local Favorites guide includes the places we recommend most often.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Mountain Daddies is family-friendly, but the property is not childproofed. Children must be included on the reservation, and infants or children under two require prior host approval before booking.
The home contains antiques, valuable furnishings, artwork and fragile items, in addition to stairs, decks and the features of a rural mountain property. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children closely at all times.
Guests are responsible for damage beyond normal wear, consistent with the applicable reservation terms. Contact us so we can help determine the most appropriate accommodation and setup for your family.
Are guest pets allowed, and are there dogs on the property?
Guest pets are not permitted unless otherwise required by law. Two resident Maltipoos live on the property and may be present in common areas. Guests with significant dog allergies or concerns should contact us before booking.
What is the smoking and vaping policy?
Mountain Daddies is smoke- and vape-free indoors, including all guest rooms. Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated or host-approved outdoor areas when current fire restrictions allow. See the House Rules for complete fire-safety guidance.
Is parking available?
Yes. Complimentary on-site parking is available for registered guests. Park only in designated guest areas; detailed arrival and parking instructions are provided before check-in.
Planning Your Sierra Stay
Is Mountain Daddies wheelchair accessible?
No. Brando and Hudson are upstairs and require stairs. Grant is on the first floor and has no steps from the parking area to its entrance, but there is a step or threshold at the entrance, clearances have not been measured, and the dining and breakfast area requires stairs. Review our Accessibility Information and contact us before booking with specific needs.
