Mountain Daddies House Rules
A few clear guidelines help every guest enjoy our home, shared spaces and mountain setting.
Welcome to Mountain Daddies
We're delighted you've chosen to stay with us. Please treat our home, fellow guests and mountain community with care—and let Jax or Julio know whenever we can help.
Check-In & Check-Out
- Check-in: 3:00 PM–8:00 PM
- Check-out: 11:00 AM
If you expect to arrive outside normal check-in hours, please contact us in advance. We will do our best to accommodate your travel plans.
Respect for Fellow Guests
Mountain Daddies is an intimate, owner-occupied bed and breakfast with shared common spaces. Please be considerate of fellow guests and help us maintain a peaceful environment.
Quiet Hours
10:00 PM–7:00 AM
During quiet hours, please keep conversations, televisions, music, phone calls and outdoor activities at a considerate level in guest rooms, common areas, decks and outdoor spaces.
Shared Spaces
Guests are welcome to enjoy the living room, dining room, main guest deck and designated common outdoor seating and viewing areas. Please leave shared spaces tidy and ready for the next guest.
The first-floor deck associated with the Cary Grant Suite is reserved for guests staying in Grant and is not a shared/common guest area.
Jax and Julio live on-site and value your privacy while remaining available for recommendations, assistance or accommodations.
Shared Bathroom: Brando & Hudson
Brando and Hudson share one full bathroom and an additional half bathroom. The setup is intentionally designed to make sharing easy:
- Inside the shared full bathroom, each room has its own dedicated sink and vanity.
- Towels are color-coded by room so each room has its own designated towels.
- Brando and Hudson each have a separate getting-ready vanity inside the guest room with a makeup mirror, makeup lighting and a hair dryer. This lets guests handle much of their hair, makeup and getting-ready routine privately, reducing the time they need to occupy the shared bathroom.
- The additional half bathroom is available to Brando and Hudson guests 24 hours a day.
- A whiteboard is available if guests wish to reserve the shared full bathroom or shower in 15-minute increments.
Most guests never find it necessary to reserve a bathroom time. The whiteboard is simply available for anyone who prefers a schedule.
Fresh Towels & Room Refreshes
We are happy to provide fresh towels or a room tidy-up during your stay. Hang towels you would like to reuse, or place used towels in the provided hamper if you would like fresh ones. Let us know whenever you need additional supplies or assistance.
Breakfast Service
A homemade hot breakfast for two guests is included with each nightly room rate and is normally served from 8:00 AM–10:00 AM. Grant may accommodate up to four guests; guests beyond the two included in the nightly rate are subject to the applicable additional-guest charge.
Please tell us about food allergies or dietary needs before arrival. We will do our best to accommodate many needs, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free kitchen or environment.
If you need an earlier breakfast because of travel plans or activities, please ask in advance and we will do our best to help.
Registered Guests & Visitors
Only registered guests included on the reservation may stay overnight.
Visitors who are not included on the reservation require prior host approval. Approved visitors may not be served alcoholic beverages at Mountain Daddies.
Parties, events and unauthorized gatherings are not permitted.
Children & Family Stays
Mountain Daddies welcomes families, but the property is not childproofed. Children must be included on the reservation, and infants or children under two require prior host approval before booking.
The home contains antiques, valuable furnishings, artwork and fragile items, and also has multiple levels, stairs, decks and outdoor areas in a rural mountain setting.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children closely at all times. Children should not be left unattended in guest rooms, common areas, decks, stairways or outdoor spaces.
Guests are responsible for damage beyond normal wear, consistent with the reservation terms. If you are traveling with children, contact us before booking so we can help determine the most appropriate accommodation and setup for your family.
Resident Dogs & Guest Pets
Two resident Maltipoos live on the property and may be present in common areas. Interaction is optional. Guests with significant dog allergies or concerns should contact us before booking.
Guest pets are not permitted unless otherwise required by law.
Smoking, Vaping & Fire Safety
Mountain Daddies is smoke- and vape-free indoors, including all guest rooms, bathrooms, common areas, the garage and covered outdoor spaces.
Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated or host-approved outdoor areas when current fire restrictions allow. During elevated fire danger, Red Flag Warnings, burn bans or other wildfire restrictions, smoking and vaping may be prohibited anywhere on the property.
- Fully extinguish smoking materials and use designated receptacles.
- Candles, incense, fireworks, sparklers and other open-flame devices are not permitted.
- Follow all applicable California laws concerning regulated substances.
Kitchen, Refrigeration & Food Storage
The kitchen and stove are private working areas reserved for the hosts and are not available for guest use.
Grant guests may request limited refrigerator space for small personal items; that refrigerator is also used for Mountain Daddies' food stock. Please ask us if you need drinking water, ice, medication storage, utensils or help with a small amount of unopened food.
To discourage insects and wildlife, do not leave open food containers in guest rooms overnight or food, coolers or trash outdoors.
Water Conservation
Our home operates on a private well system. We appreciate reasonable water conservation during your stay.
Parking & Vehicles
Park only in designated guest areas, and do not block driveways, access roads or neighboring properties. Lock vehicles and secure valuables. Mountain Daddies is not responsible for loss or damage to vehicles or personal belongings.
Wildlife & Mountain Safety
Deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife are part of the Sierra foothills experience. Black bears, coyotes, mountain lions and rattlesnakes may also be present in the region.
- Never feed, approach or follow wildlife.
- Keep food, coolers, scented items and trash indoors or properly secured.
- Use established, well-lit walkways after dark and supervise children outdoors.
- In warmer months, watch where you step or place your hands near brush, rocks and wood piles.
- If you see potentially dangerous wildlife near guest areas, notify the hosts promptly.
Lost Items & Damages
Items left behind will be held for 30 days whenever practical. Guests are responsible for return-shipping costs.
If something is damaged or not working properly, tell us promptly so we can address it. Guests may be responsible for damage caused by negligence, misuse or unauthorized activity.
Our Simple Philosophy
Treat our home as you would hope guests would treat yours. Be respectful, be kind and enjoy your time in the mountains.
Thank you for staying with us.
— Jax & Julio
